Read the info message again. It does NOT say the attachments were
deleted. It says that it blocked *access* to the attachments.
Unfortunately, even after implementing the workaround or changing
options to get at attachments, I believe that messages you received
before still won't let you get at their attachments (i.e., they got
marked "access denied" and stay that way).

For Outlook, there is a registry hack that you can find by searching at
http://support.microsoft.com/ on "level1remove" for Outlook. Or use the
Attachment Options add-in that lets you pick what attachments are good
or bad (I found a link to it at http://www.slipstick.com/).

For Outlook Express, it's a security option. Go look and disable it.

You could also request your senders change the extension of the file
they attached, like changing .exe to .exx. Then you just rename it back
when you save it.
