Nadeem,

Three key components to security are

1. Firewall,
2. Antivirus
3. Routinely installing Critical Security Updates.

Your Cable company may provide some level of firewall protection. Here is

ANTIVIRUS:

Regarding recommendations for the best Antivirus Software, Microsoft cannot
formally endorse a specific product but here is a KB Article that contains
contact information for most Antivirus vendors:

Another note on firewall and antivirus components: you should contact your
Cable company to get their recommendation because they may have a list of
software that is compatible or not compatible with their hardware and
