I also like Netgear for home or small office. The ProSafe line are real SPI
firewalls. If you want something more powerful that can accommodate a lot more
firewall rules for both inbound and outbound look on Ebay for a Netscreen 5XP [I use
one at home] or SonicWall Soho3. They both can be bought for around $150. Make sure
you check out there features first as they may not have a dmz. The Netscreen 5XP does
not have a dmz but does come with ipsec vpn endpoint built in. They may not have free
firmware updates either. I find the consumer devices to be great for a basic setup
that mostly needs to block unauthorized inbound access but they are lacking in the
capability for outbound rules and more extensive logging if that matters --- Steve
