Make sure that your Norton is current as of today from their website which you should
be able to update within the program with Live Update or such and do a full scan
again if you can regain internet access. Norton should also be configured to scan ALL
your emails no matter who they are from as often infected attachments will appear to
come from a trusted source. In addition download AdAware and scan your computer but
first update it when you are given the opportunity as soon as you open it. AdAware
may alert you to your hosts file being altered that may be causing problems with
internet access. You should see one entry for [localhost 127.0.0.1] and others you
want to remove. It may help to boot into safe mode with networking to try and make
repairs however that will disable any software firewalls, so do not do that while
connected to the internet if you have no other firewall. The link below is to the
Stinger tool from McAfee which can identify and remove many common viruses and would
also be worth a try. --- Steve
