internet connection firewall

When I try to check the box that says "protect my
computer and network by limiting or preventing access to
this computer from the internet" (in the properties of
Local Connection) it says "an error occured while
internet connection sharing was being enabled. the
service cannot accept control messages at this time" not
sure what to do. can anyone help me please.
