If you installed and did not change any of the options,
defaults include running a stub in memmory, accessing the
internet to get updates and messages.

You need to go into real player options and uncheck
everything related to internet access, and also stop the
stub, it installs, from executing. And these options are
scatterd all over the option tabs; things like check for
requalr updates, check message server for news, send
infomation on connection to site providing the piece,
permission to put in a unique ID for quality tracking
purposes. You can silence RealPlayer, put you have to
check every nook and cranny out in the options.
