    I don't understand your other comment. Of course there are still unknown
      vulnerabilities, but if SP2 is successful, SP2 protections will block
    exploits of those vulnerabilities until MS has time to patch. For
    example, HTA applications can still run in the local zone, but getting
    the file placed there and executed from within IE is much more difficult
    now than it was before.

    Certainly leave Windows Update set on automatic after installing SP2.

    If SP2 is successful, it will be worth upgrading from 9x or 2K to get
    these security features. But it all depends on how the hackers respond.
