Hi,
on some routers you can perform NAT (Network Address Translation) from
public IP to private IP. Some people use this functionality in combination
with packet filtering (what may come in and what may go out) also as
firewall.
NAT was never intended as security (firewall) feature so it's really note
recommended to be used as one.
For more information about how to configure NAT and packet filters you
should check your product documentation.
