I've heard this elsewhere, so you can give it a try:
whatever Spybot found as problems, pick only a few
problems to fix for now. Once that is done, restart your
computer, scan again, and pick a few more, restart again,
and do this cycle over and over again until all the
problems are cleaned up.
Apparently, Spybot and/or your computer can't handle all
260 at once, so you have to fix the problems (spyware
found) little by little. Eventually, that 260 will
hopefully shrink down to a number you can live with (2 or
3 since certain problems Spybot seems to find will always
show as problems and will never seem to be shown
as "fixed").
Also, may I suggest Ad-aware to you as well? A good
spyware cleaning isn't complete without using Ad-aware as
well!
