Acces to old documents

I had a power supply problem that caused software damage
to my hard drive. I installed a new hard and loaded XP on
it then used my old hard drive as a slave so I could get
information that was on it off. I now have XP on the new
hard drive and went to get data from my Documents &
steeings folder and access was denioed. My old os had a
password on my account. I am now not sure how to get my
old data from this hard drive. I wish it was bootable then
I could just log in then swap data. Hmm. Can anyone
suggest a way to get my old data from my docs?
