Thanks very much for the advice, PA Bear - from now on I will stick to
critical downloads via main Microsoft Updates site.

Also, thanks for the link to OE newsgroup - I've now subscribed to it and
hope that it will help in any other (hopefully very few...) problems
relating to OE?!

You already have Q837009 installed.

Please rely on Windows Update for updates your system needs, rather than
picking & choosing ones you /think/ it needs.
