Instead of giving a direct answer, I'll show you how to use Symantec's own
knowledgebase in looking up solutions to using, fixing, or eradicating their
products.

- Go to http://www.symantec.com/.
- Click on the Support button in the navbar near the top of the page.
- Click the "Continue" link under the "home & home office ..." section.
- Click the "automated support assistant" button.
- You can choose to load their ActiveX scanner, or not (so you'll have to
select your product manually, which would be Norton Anti-Virus and Norton
Internet Security).
- Select Norton Antivirus (your version).
- Search on "remove norton antivirus".

The relevant KB article mentions RNAV<version>.exe. So you could also
search on "rnav". The similar method is used for removing NIS, but search
on "rnis".

I actually perform an uninstall from Add/Remove Programs if the product is
still listed there (and doesn't result in an error trying to find the
uninstall logfile). Then I run the rnav and rnis utilities from newest to
oldest versions to clean out remnant files and especially the registry
entries. A reboot is required, I believe, after each remove. I then check
that the install directory got wiped out along with the "C:\Program
Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared" stuff (leave it if you don't uninstall
all Norton's products), and followup with a registry scan looking for
"Norton Anti" and "Norton Internet".
