Liz,

Sounds like your system may not be configured correctly, if you have a
broadband connection or a dsl connection you should invest in a linksys
router, this will help keep your computer from being open to the internet,
you should also get some software such as norton firewall to make sure your
system is verywell protected. Their are a lot of nosey computers out there.
