Hi,
we have changed the name one of our administrator accounts as an
additional measure to protect us from a 3rd Party Supplier that was fully
integrated into our systems. We have renamed the account using Active
Directory Users and Computers. The User Principle Name(UPN) has changed and
works fine, however the User logon name (before Windows 2000) (NETBIOS type
name) keeps reverting back to it's old name. When we manually change the
name it filters round to all the DCs and everything works correctly for
about a day or so until it reverts. This is causing problems when logging
into servers because you can only guarantee getting in using the UPN name
e.g. administror@domain.com. I have searched TechNet for a reason as to why
this is happening but to no avail. Any ideas ?

Kind Regards

Chris Cowling, MCSA
