Hello all. I'm not sure what to do. I downloaded a
spyware and adware removal software from cnet.com and ran
it. It found almost 300 infected files that I erased.
Subsequently, I couldn't connect online through my cable
modem. The tech support at the cable company ran some
tests. He determined that the adware removal software
must have blocked the data channel in/out of my computer
through a 'socket.' Does this sound right? If so, what
do I need to do to fix this problem?
Any help is greatly appreciated. I am a doctor and need
at home access to the internet for work related
purposes.
Thanks so much.
Paul.
