The best firewall is the one that you can set up securely, easily. I prefer
Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5, but that is not easy to learn; requires a lot
of knowledge of TCP stuff. Zone Alarm, whether Pro or Free, is very easy to
configure and understand.
If you don't know, and don't want to learn a lot of TCP stuff, you could
have problems with the best firewall that you won't have with Zone Alarm.
