Jeff: All three of the links you posted refer to Outlook, not Outlook
Express, which he indicated he was using.

I think he really has Outlook Express 6 instead of 5 which has the security
feature of blocking access to attachments. He needs to check OE tools |
Options | Security and uncheck the 4th one down.
