You need to use a firewall to block access to necessary ports used by your
computer from untrusted networks. You can go to a site such as
http://scan.sygatetech.com/ to self scan your computer for network
vulnerabilities. To see what is actually using that port, download TCPView
port mapper which will help you determine the application/executable/service
involved. You can right click a process to get more detailed information. If
it is an application you do not use, then uninstall it. If it is a service,
disable it. If it is something you use, let your firewall do it's job. Of
course always run a virus scan with latest definitions whenever you question
system activitiy . --- Steve
