"Internet Optimizer" & "Orbit"

These programs have recently downloaded themselves into
my Program Files and when I try to delete I can remove
the "Internet Optimizer" using Add/Remove Programs but
when I try to do this with the "Orbit" ones I get Access
Denied. My questions are :

1. Can I stop these nuisance programs (I am already
running the firewall setup)

2. How do I get rid of them permanently

PS There is a new round of fake "Microsoft" lookalike
security messages dowing the rounds in the UK!
