Yes, there is a duplication. You need to wait before deciding that a post
didn't go through. Even though you posted from a web interface
("X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000"), your post is sent to an
NNTP server, and will be distributed all around the world for public access.
SpyBot Search & Destroy is a decent program, but takes some care in
handling. Pay attention to what it lists, and learn what listed programs do.
Spybot does back up the state of the system before changes, so you can
recover from errors; but it is better to know what you are removing first.
Another adware detector is Lavasoft's Ad-Aware. Many people use it in tandem
with Spybot S&D. There is something called "Hijack This" mentioned, but I am
not familiar with it. You do need to research on "browser hijack", and learn
how to lock down MSIE against hijackers.
