For this one, blocking ports is better. The vulnerability is not with
"Messenger", but the underlying protocols on the exposed ports.

But if you do, subscribe to the MS Security Bulletin. In this way you get a
notification of updates through the email, and will be reminded to go to the
Windows Update site for the patches.
