Free AV's
AVG [www.grisoft.com ] is a good AV and less memory consuming too.....better
than many of the paidwares....No support is available for free edition. Now
it has got smaller virus updates size too.
AVAST Home Edition v 4.0 [www.avast.com] is also another good AV.[requires
free registration no, chek on website ] and has more features than AVG .
For dialup users or It is a install & forget type AV... detects internet
connection automatically and Automatic updates without user
interference, boot time scanner ,universal mail scanner, P2P softwares
scanner, Messenger files
scan, good support [even for free home edition ]..[chek features on website]
Continuously updated also .. But may seem a little bit slow [ minor
difference ] than AVG on Pc's having P3 500 mhz ,128mb ram....
So if you are having a ram crunch , i would suggest to go for AVG., else for
AVAST.....
BOTH , are good AV'S security wise......But convenience wise and also
features wise , i
would Prefer AVAST.
Regards
TIMTOM.
