Administrator pass

How can I reset my system or rather how can I recover my
admin password. I cant even upgrade . Basically the
situation is that I have a cpu that I have not used in
about 2 years and I forgot the admin password. I
basically just hooked it back up for the sole purpose of
running a server at home and now I cant install anything
new because I dont remember my password. What should I do?
