The present plague is around 150kB and over 2000 lines, whereas nothing
else, in text newsgroups, is likely to be so big. Only those big enough
need be examined.

I don't recall the exact policy on binaries here; but ISTM that, except
in any groups *for* binaries, it can reasonably be cancelled as a large
binary. Heuristics should be able to separate binaries from text and
programs rather well.

If (most) newsgroups were limited to plain text messages of under 1000
lines, the problem, in those groups, would be much reduced.
