Thanks Shenan for your reply. My Norton antivirus is set
to autoupdate. I visit Norton website frequently for news
and manual updates. I have a router with its own firewall
and, in addition, a 'Tiny' personal firewall installed. I
have now installed 'The Cleaner' for an additional trojan
detection and removal. My Windows xp is set to
automatically receive and install updates and has been so
ever since I installed it. I have Ad-aware installed. I
regularly scan my system for viruses. All the main ports
on my system are either closed or set to stealth mode.
The only other computer on my small network belongs to me
with no-one else accessing it. I NEVER open unknown
attachments. I open them only If I know the source, I
scan them first anyway. YET, I get trojans and worms.
Just how vigilant can one be??? If all the above fail,
even sometimes, then may be something else is wrong. The
main tool of defence for instance. In my case, it may be
the AntiVirus.
