Before you learn how to change your MSOE settings, you really need to learn
how to handle attachments safely. It can be done, but it is kind of like
nitroglycerin. Sometimes it is better not doing something than to risk
blowing something up, eh? ;)

I happen to use a different client than MSOE; Pegasus Mail. Like the latest
MSOE, PM does not allow access to attachments. Unlike MSOE, PM cannot be
configured to allow access to attachments. I like it that way. Even when I
use MSOE to access my Hotmail accounts, I leave the setting as is. Even
though I *know* how to handle attachments safely, I don't leave myself open
to viral infections.

The Internet is like a Jungle, these days, and there are predators looking
to devour you in every nook and cranny. Since you are aware of your
limitations (a good thing, as Dirty Harry knows!) you are probably much
better off just leaving those attachments inaccessible.
