Please read the message, it says nothing about an e-mail
nor attachment, it says POP UP.

I suggest you look into the following things.
Get a firewall software/hardware it's your choice
software is free, zonealarm do a search on google.com

if you have XP enable the firewall, or get a better one
my choice!

also look into disabling the messenger

www.agnitum.com, www.kerio.net , www.zonealarm.com

http://securityadmin.info/faq.htm#pop-ups
http://securityadmin.info/faq.htm#firewall
http://securityadmin.info/faq.htm#harden

   To disable net messenger

Right-Click My Computer -> Manage -> Services and
Applications ->
Services -> Scroll down to Messenger -> Right-Click ->
Properties ->
Click Stop -> then in the "Log On" tab, click disable.
