KB824146Scan patched with KB824146 and KB823980 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: cannot get workstation info: error 997 (0x000003E5)

We previously patched all NT 4.0/2000 servers and workstations with
KB823980 and successfully scanned with KB823980Scan to confirm all
workstations and servers on the LAN were successfully patched.

We've checked today with KB824146Scan before APPLYING patch Q824146
again to check that ALL NT 4.0/2000 servers and workstations with were
patched with KB823980.

Q824146 was applied to all workstations and servers on the LAN this
evening, but a few servers and workstations now report the following
when scanned with KB824146Scan.

What's going on here, we checked the computers and it appears that
they have both patches installed, why does the scanner not see them?
