restoring file permissions for windows xp for administrator access

hi, recently formated my pc and on the other 5 drives I
cant get access to any document, Vido, sound, folders,
error "access Denied" when trying to open! How do I go
about restoring file permissions for windows xp for
administrator access on the drives? Can anyone out there
help me at all please? Or any suggestions...
