can't access HKLM remotely

Hi,
    I can't access HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE remotely via
regedit, although I can use the same account at the
console and run it just fine. . I get "Cannot open
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE: Error while opening key." I also
cannot get into HKEY_USERS remotely. However,I can get
into HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. The remote computer is XP Pro. I
don't have this problem on other XP Pro computers. I've
looked high and low for some network access permission
problem, but I am not finding anything. This computer was
originally a W2K workstation. Any help is appreciated!
