UPDATE FAILURE

Hello
I tried updating (SYNAPTICS HUMAN INPUT SOFTWARE UPDATE
RELEASED ON APRIL 24, 2003) bUT WHEN i LOOKED IN UPDATE
HISTORY IT SAID FAILED. HOW DO I GO ABOUT REINSTALLING
IT AND REMOVE THE ONE THAT SAYS FAILED I HAVE 3 OTHER
UPDATES THAT SAY THAT ALSO I AM NEW AT THIS I JUST BOUGHT
THE NOTBOOK SO I REALLY REALLY USE SOME HELP.
