I think that he's playing games with you, I don't agree with his answer
anyway. KB is just a newer way of 'numbering' Knowledge Base articles, that
for us English (en-us) speakers used to numbered with Q e.g. Q123456 is the
same article as KB123456 etc etc. See "Upcoming Changes to Knowledge Base

QFE is a separate signifier with the meaning given to Q above. It often is
used when a patch is available prior to its inclusion in a Service Pack.
