Blaster virus

I had the virus and managed to get rid of it, via update
and firewall procedure. however, macafee was running as
well and came up with infected files that I just bluntly
deleted without looking at the pathname or whatever, how
do I know I did not delete anything crucial and how can I
retrieve this. is windows update able to restore this?
