You've struck a cord there, Hector.
Sloppy design has become all too common. We buy engineering software that
cost thousands of dollars per workstation. We buy these programs from
several vendors. The norm seems to be to release buggy software and
practically force customers into support/upgrade contracts. It's even
becoming common for the vendors to try to force the customer, through these
support/upgrade contracts, to install upgrades within a matter of weeks
after they are released. Just when a version of the software becomes
stable, it seems we are expected to deploy another bug-ridden major upgrade.
It's like a perpetual beta test.
