We've had no reports here of the patch causing problems
and we're installing it on a lot of machines.

I've heard the patch is uninstallable, however, if you
go to Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Software there
is a listing for Hotfix 823980. I used the control panel
to remove the hotfix on a system I wanted to do some
testing on and by golly, after I removed it I could
exploit it. However, a warning message was generated
during the uninstall process about the possibility of
a lot of other things not working. Since this was a laptop
only used to test things, I may not have noticed other
things breaking due to the uninstall. I'd be very
careful about uninstalling it on a production server.
