Add/Remove- remove ALL 'freeware' and 'shareware' apps. only keep what you
need. reboot.
go to start/run/regedit. single-click My Computer, go to edit/find. type
Gator/find next. delete what is found. keep going (alt-e-x). remove EVERY
instance of Gator (not, for example Navigator ;>). be careful with this, and
what you d/l.
