unsafe attachments

since dowloading a MS patch to give my Outlook Express 6
extra security, OE has refused me access to every
attachment I have received since, by advising me that they
are unsafe. In fact, it is also refusing me access to the
attachments I created in my "sent items" file!!!
I found an advice in the MS product support services
#OL2000 - "Access to potentially unsafe attachments is not
blocked in Outlook Express".
 I followed the instruction, but when I tried to import
the message into a new folder, I got a window up, saying
that messages cannot be imported from the MAPI client.
Anyone got any advice ???
