Not all PC's come with a power switch on the power supply.
Pull the power plug? ick!
Sure you can think that what others have suggested by
asking people to upgrade is a mindless anwser, but its the
correct anwser. You can't ask a newbie to go into their
computer unplug wires, and mess with bios settings, and
expect them to do it correctly without messing something
up. Not all bios' allow for soft shutdowns .. only ATX
cases can do soft shutdowns. so again.. Pull the power
plug? A teenager can figure that one out too. We have no
idea what this user has. Opening a can of worms here.
At least Microsoft makes it almost idiot proof to install
Windows 2000 or XP.
Windows 2000 or XP is more secure anyway...
Not every person who posts here is a computer tech.. I
can't believe you would ask someone to tear apart their
machine and unplug wires... ever heard of Keep It Simple
