    Hi Glenn,

I wanted to post a reply to you in hopes that others read
your e-mail to me and find it as helpful as I did: I
activated my built-in Win XP firewall just like you
instructed (which by the way, your very thorough step-by-
step instructions made it easy even for somelike like me,
who's rather tentative around computers, to do) and I have
not received any more 'messenger service' pop-ups.
Fingers crossed that it will stay that way!!

Please let me know what other info you come across, since
I know that this is only a 'bandage' solution.

    Thanks again, Glenn.
    Lily :)
