mouse movement

I've noticed recently that when I'm online my mouse will
suddenly shift to the left. This seems to happen soon
after I log on and only happens when I online. This
happens whether or not I'm holding down the left click
button. It's almost as if someone has access to my mouse
and is checking to see if they have control.
