xp networking security

i am trying to set up a wireless network between a
desktop and laptop. the desktop shows both computers on
the network. the laptop says it does not have
permission. i have been trying for many hours tonight to
figure out HOW to do this.

someone PLEASE throw me a bone!!!!!!!!!
