Actually, the cert makes perfect sense. Security problems involving
Microsoft products are at least half the fault of the person administering
them not knowing how to secure them properly. This will help. [After all,
if these people can't make Windows secure, then moving to Linux probably
isn't going to make them any more secure.] No software so far has been 100%
secure in the default installation or required zero effort on the part of
the user to keep secure going forward.... not even OpenBSD.

Another problem that may have contributed to some network administrators not
knowing enough about security was that the MCSE never really included enough
security information to prepare or certify anyone to keep a network secure.
This is a needed step towards fixing that.

Having said that, the cert may or may not be useful to have for furthering
your career. Some certifications like the MCP are no longer as valuable to
have as they once were.
