I have a similar problem with a teenage son. I put a
bootup password to limit usage. He discovered a way
around that. Now he's upped the ante in our battle of
wits by putting on his own boot password.

The good news is he's not creative in choosing his
passwords. The bad news is that when I got into setup, it
told me that only the system administrator could change
the passsword! I am stumped as to how he did that.

Of course, removing the power cord and/or grounding him
from the PC are always last resort solutions, but I want
to have the last laugh, so to speak, using technology, not
force.

Thank you!
