Since yesterday (never before), whenever I click on
Windows Update, I get directed to the site
www.v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/defaul.asp... and
two pop-up windows appear that cannot be closed other than
by shutting down. The one on top is named "Select
Download Site" and asks me to "please select a download
site close to your location, blah, blah." North America
is the only region that can be selected. Then follows the
word Site, with under it "Web Site - Windows Update".
The second window underneath is entitled "Install on
Demand" and states "To display this page correctly, you
need to download and install the following components"
with some stuff underneath, including a Download and a
Cancel button.
These same boxes sometimes appear out of nowhere and I am
getting worried that I have contracted a virus. Or is all
this legit and should I just click the OK button of the
upper window, followed by "Download" on the lower window?
Your help would be very much appraciated!!!
