My Documents is not accessible

I am trying to recover data from my harddrive that
crashed. I have it connected to my system as the
secondary drive and can access everything except for
the "My Documents" folder. I believe this is because I
originally made it "Private" when I was setting it up. I
have shared the drive and all its folders but I still get
the error.
This is in Windows XP Professional, the secondary drive
was setup with Windows XP Home.
Any thoughts?
