Dude, killing the messenger is just killing the symptom of a bigger
problem.
YOU HAVE PORTS OPEN. YOU HAVE VULNERABILITIES. Get a firewall! If you
have file and print sharing turned on and no firewall...dude you are a
ticking time bomb.
