well, I'm sure there are a lot of Linux developers who have read/are reading
this excellent book:

"Writing Secure Code" Michael Howard, David LeBlanc MS Press 2003
   http://www.microsoft.com/mspress/books/5957.asp

the book deals with the whole development cycle, and while much is windows
specific, this is a must read for program managers, architects, developers and
testers. It is also very entertaining :-)

Note that the previous edition (last year!) included a cd-rom, whereas this
version has code-samples via web-site.
