I would like to install a printer on my Win2k Pro machine.

Problem: No Printing Service on Win2k Pro, and Unable to install a printer

Error Message: Print Subsystem not available due to lack of resources.

In order to secure my Windows 2000 Pro from malicious "server services" some
services were disabled, including printing services.

Specifically, registry settings regarding the printing spooler were altered,
as recomended by Microsoft support.. I tried to reverse the changes via
the instructions by Microsoft , which suggested disabling some services for
machines acting as Servers. This failed to restore print services (I got
above error message). I Restored Win2k pro install via the Win2k pro
installation setup and then attempted to reinstall a printer. (again, I got
the above error message).

I would very much like to restore printing. Please advise.

Thanks.
