The FROM: field is very easy to forge in email. You won't get in trouble.
There are clues in the email that can prove whether or not the email really
came from you, e.g. the email SMTP headers. More information on decoding
these is at www.samspade.org and other places, though it's usually pretty
hard to track down the real sender or get this to stop.
