Hi,
I may be totally lost here but I'll suggest something
anyway...
XP has a lot of "services" that can be turned on and off.
These can be found under Administrative tools, Services.
Many of these a related to web connections and I've read
that disabling some might cause trouble in some LAN
networks. Most of them are anyway useless to the common
user. Check your service configuration (for example
services like DNS client etc.)and see if enabling some
services might help. By default most of them are on anyway
so it is possible that your problem is not related to
services at all.
